Ocean Rider is raising the pipefish with great success. These pipes make great peaceful companions for seahorses! And they eat frozen mysis shrimp!! Commonly known as the banded pipefish or ringed pipefish, the species normally has black bands or rings but this one is a variant with reddish rings. They are a rare tropical Indo-Pacific Species farm raised on a commercial scale for the first time!

They will need at least a 20 gallon saltwater tank with cave or seagrass habitat. They are carnivores and need to eat 2-3 times a day with your seahorses. They will eat chopped mysis when they are young and whole mysis as they get older. For variety they will enjoy enriched live or frozen brine shrimp.

They will enjoy the same temperatures as our tropical Ocean Rider seahorses. Our breeders here at Ocean Rider are 6 years old so be prepared for another long living, robust, and beautiful specimen from Ocean Rider. They can grow up to 8 inches in length!
