Seahorse / Tour Staff Member: MADALYN

This is Madalyn, but she also goes by Mo, and she is truly a fish out of water! Mo has worked at Ocean Rider since 2017. She has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Marine Science and a Certificate in Spanish Language from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. When she’s not on the farm you can find her either underwater or on a boat as she is also a SCUBA instructor and dive guide! Mo’s love for the ocean is contagious and she loves to share her knowledge and passion with everyone she meets! Come take a tour of our farm and she would love to be the one to show you around!

Seahorse / Tour Guide Staff: JIM

Jim has worked at Ocean Rider since 2018. Before coming to the farm, he worked as a Hawaiian Studies teacher at Kuleana, Park Ranger at Kaloko Honokohau, and an Astronomy tour guide atop Mauna Kea. Jim is fascinated by all things science and loves to convey his knowledge to others. If you are looking for a passionate tour guide, who loves science, then Jim’s tour is perfect for you!

Seahorse / Tour Guide Staff: ISAIAH

Isaiah has been an employee here at Ocean Rider since 2018. This island boy loves the aina (land) and kai (sea), and he appreciates life and learning new ike (knowledge). While on the farm, Isaiah is hard at work helping out with farm duties, which include cleaning tanks and helping out with tours. You can always rely on him to lend a helping hand!

Seahorse / Tour Guide Staff: CASSIE

Cassie is one of the newest employees here on the farm. She has a degree in Marine Biology from Rutgers University in New Jersey. When not on the farm, you can find her underwater either freediving, Scuba diving, or snorkeling. Cassie is enthusiastic and has a real passion for teaching. She gets real joy from sharing her knowledge with others.

Seahorse / Tour Guide Staff: AVILA

Avila is a Big Island girl through and through! She has lived in Kona for all of her life, and has loved the ocean since before she can remember. Avila is passionate about protecting the earth, including the land and sea, and does what she can to make environmentally friendly decisions in her life. She is an animal lover, especially when it comes to seahorses, and is a welcome friendly face in our gift shop.

Seahorse / Tour Guide Staff: SARAH

Sarah has been a part time employee at Ocean for over 5 years! When she is not on the farm, she is at her full-time job as a Scuba Instruction and leading her most favorite dive, the Pelagic Magic. You can usually find her helping out around the farm and doing a tour or two on Mondays – so make sure to stop by to say hello!
