Dear Lucienne:
Yes, the ingredients in the original Vibrance and Vibrance 2 are comparable except that the Vibrance 1 is a high-fat formulation rich in lipids to support the rapid growth of newborn and juvenile seahorses.
If your seahorses are still youngsters that are rapidly growing, they would benefit from the extra calories in the Vibrance 1 too. The low-fat Vibrance 2 formulation is best suited for mature seahorses that are not actively breeding.
Ocean Rider Mustangs and Sunbursts (Hippocampus erectus) usually mature between 4-6 months of age, which is the age when the pouches of young males normally become evident. But with young virgin males, it can be difficult at times to detect their pouches, and you must also make allowances for late-blooming microfauna males that don’t fully mature until they are closer to a year old…
However, if your ponies are six months old or older and still have no sign of a pouch, then the chances are good that they may be females…
To save on shipping when you order Vibrance, it’s best to place your order when you are purchasing other specimens from the seahorse farm. That way, there is no additional charge for shipping the Vibrance, which is sent along with the specimens. Also, if you order one of the special packages, Vibrance is normally included along with free shipping as part of the special offer.
Best wishes with all your fishes, Lucienne!
Respectfully,
Pete Giwojna, Ocean Rider Tech Support
