In order to obtain a pregnant male you have to order a mated pair and then specify in the "comments" section of the online order form that you want the male to be pregnant. Ocean Rider will then select a mated pair for you in which the male is already gravid when they pack your order for shipping. There is an extra charge of $30 for a pregnant male, which will be added on to the cost of your order.

Ocean Rider’s policy is only to sell pregnant males as part of a mated pair because it is stressful and cruel to separate pair-bonded seahorses from their mates.

Yes, sir, club members are entitled to a 10% discount on any order over $200. Again, in order to get your discount you need to state that you are a member of the Ocean Rider Club at http://www.seahorse.com/ in the "comments" section of the online order form.

If you have a trio of Hippocampus erectus seahorses consisting of one female and two males, the mare will only mate with one of the stallions at a time. At some point, the female may change partners and mate with the other male, but when she does so she will stop mating with the other stallion. In H. erectus, you won’t see a situation where one female keeps two males pregnant at the same time. That simply doesn’t happen, at least with this species.

Just be patient and your pair of Mustangs will provide you with offspring sooner or later, sir. And once they get it right start breeding in earnest, they will present you with a new brood about every month or so. So I wouldn’t be in too much of a very to order a gravid male in order to jumpstart your rearing program, Nigel. If you were to do that and then your current pair of Mustangs started producing progeny on a regular basis as well, you would have more newborn seahorses on your hands and you can deal with.
