Hi Carrie,
Mandarin’s are gorgeous and wonderful little fish unfortunately a dwarf tank is much to small to sustain them. They need to be placed in a well established 100g tank with lots of live rock in order to provide them with the appropriate diet.
Pipefish would make great companions for dwarfs but unfortunately there are currently no commercial sources of captive bred pipefish.
The red volcanic shrimp and Nass snails make a nice addition to a dwarf tank.
I don’t know how big your set up is but I am assuming it is under 10g. Unfortunately the typical dwarf set up is to small for any other marine fish, most of which require a minimum of 20g. If your tank is 10g one of the smaller gobies might work but there is a good chance they would make a meal out of your fry.
HTH,
Leslie
