Hi There,
It is possible your seahorses were courting they do not always complete an egg transfer. They often court for days before transfering the clutch of eggs. It is easy to miss as it only takes seconds so if you look away you could easily miss the big moment. The horses will come belly to belly near the surface for the egg transfer and will usually rise to the surface many times before they actually complete the transfer.
