Thank you for the kind words, Pete! It feels good my efforts are on the right track.
The whole town is talking about "Dennis The Seahorse" and his prescription. May be the most exciting thing this little town has had all winter!
As for the mysis shrimp I am injecting, they are Hikari Jumbo mysis. Much larger than the PE shrimp I use. They are about 3/4" long. I put as much of the medication in each one that I can, but it is really hard to figure out how much Diamox is actually getting to the seahorse. I am able to watch them very closely because I am now back to being a housewife, mother and grandmother while my husband is off making the money. So I will add more medicated shrimp if it isn’t doing the job in a timely manner. Can you over medicate with Diamox?
I was thinking maybe I should give "Dufus" some meds for his pouch along with Dennis, but I just wasn’t sure. Thank you for the suggestion!
If you have time, I have a skimmer question. I have a Coralife needle wheel skimmer I was thinking of putting in my sump. Now I am not sure if it will make too many microbubbles for my ponies. I have a canister filter I use in my setup along with the 20 gal. sump. Loads of live rock and a perfect sandbed. And a very good cleanup crew. This 65 gal tall houses the 5 seahorses, 1 firefish, and a small shrimp/goby pair, loads of coral and a coco worm.
This has been up and running for a year with no problems until I couldn’t keep up with the maintenance like usual.
Should I add the skimmer, or just keep it as it is?
Thank you again, Pete! I value your opinion more than anyone else.
