Pete
Thanks for the advice. The reason I am changing the RSM is that I have that plus a 55 gal reef tank. I have decided to move most of the coral and all of the fish from both tanks to a Marineland deep dimension 150 gal reef system.
After researching, your site plus a few others on raising seahorses, I thought I could use the RSM by removing one of the power heads and changing the system skimmer with a Tunze Nano skimmer (it does fit in the skimmer location and I own one now). I hope to reduce flow by 50% and have any flow going through a spray head to spread out the stream flow.
I just hate to put the RSM in the basement to collect dust, it really is a great system. I have had it operational for about 17 months and the tank well established.
With this being said and in the aquarium hobby for 20 years, my first priority rest with the animals under my care, thus your advice is extremely important for me to provide a great quality of life for the horses.
