Dear Yvonne:
Okay, the Nassarius snails will make an excellent addition to your cleanup crew and the six line wrasse is a colorful reef-safe fish that will help keep your bristleworm population in check. Just be sure to quarantine the wrasse before hand, as previously discussed.
Yes, Mustangs (Hippocampus erectus) will be fine if your water temperature remains stable between 75°F-77°F. Just be aware of those summertime heat waves. Your seahorses will experience heat stress if the water temperature rises to around 80°F or more or a period of days during summer heat spells, and that’s what you need to guard against. If your water temperature is already reaching 77°F-78°F during the hottest part of the day, there is a risk that your aquarium could become overheated when things warm up in summer. Remember the suggestions for cooling your 24-gallon nano cube if the water temperature begins to creep up this summer, and be prepared to implement them if necessary.
Best of luck with your new seahorse system, Yvonne!
Happy Trails!
