I have an all natural tank for seahorses as well with an orange background. I also have all different colored corals ranging from yellow, orange, red, green, etc. At first when I put them inmine were on the dark side of the spectrum, mostly dark brown and near black. Now my sunbursts range from a lt silver to pale orange to dk red. I have one who is orange to bright yellow. It has taken some time for them to lighten up. I keep adding brightly colored natural corals as well and feeding them the mysid shrimp with vibrance.
