Thank you for the response. I have a 30g, no sump, a nice strong protein skimmer, an emperor 400 hob, and 7 watt uv, around 10 lbs of LR, bare bottom floor. The light is actually just a cheap one, for a 10g, and I have it on top of the tank but sideways. Skimmer (hob) is on left side of the tank, hob is on back but to the left, and the uv, which is totally submersed is on the right, all the rocks and artificial plants are pushed to the sides with the equipment. I’m pretty sure hitches are sufficient, you can see almost ten at a glance. In it, I have two pairs of erectus, they court, but nothing ever happens. Here and there I see the girls being responsive, but nothing. One time, I found eggs all in the tank. The tank has been established for 6 months. I do wc’s weekly with I.O. or Coralife salt, sometimes I use tap, often I go to the machines at Publix which I believe are Ro units, and use that water. Whenever I use tap, I know the drill, I aerate for for 24hrs, actually I do it with ro too so the salt dissolves well. Well, that’s all I can think of at the moment. Thanks again.
