Hi!
My Seahorse did give birth for the third time yesterday 1/23, in the morning.
His first two batches had about 2 dozen each, this one was at least double.
I am a beginner at raising the fry and am trying the Kreisel method this time.
I followed directions from the internet on how to construct the nursery.
Mine has two holes drilled through the sides with fine aquarium divider covering the openings, to allow waterflow through. The nursery bowl sits in a 10 gal aquarium with water from the parents tank. It has two pumps. One circulates the water in the 10 gal. the other is connected to the fish bowl and sends a gentle jet across the surface to help keep the fry from snicking air.
However even with the flow rate set at about 10gph as per other articles I have read, several of the fry have still been able to "snick" air.
This has been extremely frustrating, but I refuse to give up.
My seahorses were sold to me as Kelloggi however I believe that they are actually Reidi.
I would love to stay in touch with you and compare notes!
