Dear arcprolife:
Yes, sir, it sounds like it may be a good idea to relocate your clownfish. Most of the time percula clowns (Amphiprion percula) and false percula clowns (A. occelaris) make decent tankmates for seahorses. But they definitely have a fondness for frozen Mysis and when the clownfish begin monopolizing the feeding station or actually nipping at the seahorses, then it’s time to intervene.
I’m sure your clownfish will adopt a carpet anemone as their host but I’m not certain how they will react to the sexy shrimp. The clownfish probably won’t want to share their anemone but otherwise the sexy shrimp and the clowns should be quite compatible. I suspect they would defend their anemone, particularly if they set up housekeeping and lay some eggs, but if the sexy shrimp have a choice of anemones in your new tank, then that might work out fine and would certainly make a very interesting exhibit.
Best wishes with all your fishes, sir!
Respectfully,
Pete Giwojna
