Thanks very much for the very full reply.
Unfortunately I have already posted on the syngnathidae list and got no reply.
The mycobacteria is just a grumbling background issue with occasional losses. We have tried a variety of drug therapy regimes – sometimes an ill seahorse improves, but the lack of definitive diagnosis ante-mortem makes it uncertain whether the ones that improve had mycobacteria or some other bacterial issue, of course.
