Hi,
My hubby and I went to Boardroom aquatics this morning to meet Rich and bring him some of my water.
WOW, WOW and WOW again :cheer: What a store!!! Tiny little thing busting at the rims full, no inch is free BUT full with the most beautiful tanks I have EVER seen!!!
I could not stop walking around looking in the tanks…. they were undescribable. OHH OHH he had one tank with young seahorses!! Yes, tank bred, they were sooo cute. His one worker said they were supposed to get real yellow, but were black at the moment… I thought they were cute black….
I am SOOO glad you recommended him John!!!
Rich, the guy who owns the store was very very nice and full of imformation for us.
He tested me water and asked if I used RO water. I said, I guess so, since we buy our water already mixed at our LFS… he said he was very impressed with out values… He said our PHosphate was down to 0. He said that some people work long on trying to get it that far down….
He checked everything and said we were on traget with all the values….. even my calcium, he said good and was at 400 mg/L.
SOOOOO I asked,… why are my corals disappearing??? I mean they are not dying, they just pull themselves together and than just shrink away….
He said, our tank was too clean…. and that the corals had nothing to feed on. I guess the mircle mud filter is really doing it\’s job, because they say you don\’t need a protien skimmer or at least not so much. John said I would be safe it I don\’t let it run that often.
So, he recommended some feed and we took that home and I have already fed the corals with the stuff.
Rich also recommended Combo vital spectra vital and black powder. Does anyone know of it?? On the package it tells me how much to dose, but not how often…… Can someone tell me how often I am supposed to use it??
Fix and Foxi are doing good. I moved the gorgonian more to the front of the tank and also picked up some more coral which they can hitch onto. I also planted some calupera, we\’ll see if it grows.
Christine
