Hi There, we have been breeding seahorses (Kuda) for a couple years now down here in New Caledonia. We are running into 2 problems to which i have not found solutions as per today.
First, my old pairs and my younger pairs keep missing the pouch while transfering the eggs although they did not use to do this (for the old pair) and i have a tank that is 75cm high.
Second, i have had access to new breeders recently with a good amount of juvenile production subsequently but at day 4-5 most of the babies start to float due to over inflation of the baldder. They still survive while struggling at the surface but most die of starvation. I know it’s not a new thing but i have not come accross litterature that would help me sort this.
