Hi Pete. Thanks for your help. I have been gradually reducing the original specific gravity from the original 1.023 to just below 1.021 over the last couple of days. I checked the Tracy Warland book and she recommends that H. angustus or H. barbouri should be kept at 1.021 so I probably shouldn’t have had it that high in the first place when I knew how low the LFS ket their specific gravity. The girl is doing wonderfully and was feeding mid water level without even needing to hitch. Regards, Carol.:cheer:

Excellent! I’m very happy to hear that your female is doing so well and has managed overcome the difficulty with positive buoyancy. I think you handled the situation very well and she should soon be back to normal, none the worse for wear.
However, I would still jump at the chance to acquire some of the acetazolamide (brand name Diamox) from your veterinarian because it can be difficult to obtain and is a very useful medication for the seahorse keeper to keep on hand in his or her fishroom medicine cabinet.
