I have a breeding pair of hippocampus erectus and the male has popeye in both eyes and is blind as a bat and can’t feed. The female appears to be fine. My tank is currently over-loaded with aptasia, could this have caused this problem and how do I sort it out. I don’t want to lose my ponie and very upset about this. I do have a hospital tank set up but, don’t want to stress him out either. What should I do to try to save my guy as well as protecting the female from her geting the same problem. I’ve done a water change as well but, that hasn’t helped. The water parameters are fine. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Been thinking about getting some of the nudibranchs that eat aptasia otherwise I have to break the tank down and start all over as the outbreak is incredible. I guess the aptasia were introduced with some live rock that I purchased but, weren’t visible when I bought the rock or placed it in my tank 🙁
All the best,
Steve
