Hey everybody!
Sometimes I think that saltwater tanks (or \"Fishing\" as my family calls any of my research or tank maintenance, or tank viewing) is an addiction.
I have too many tanks in my house…. and I\’m in the process of setting up another….. why? Because I got the tank for $25 from my neighbor who moved. So it was more like…. why not? It\’s a small tank (29 gallon) and I want to put a saddled valentini puffer in it. (They only reach 4 inches, so 29 gallons would be comfy for it) All my other tanks are community tanks, so I wanted to make this one different. But here\’s the thing…. I\’ve got 2 seahorse setups, a freshwater 55 gallon, 2 12 gallon mini reefs, and another saltwater mixed reef. So that\’s 6 tanks already. If you add in the salt tank and the fresh tank my daughter has in her room (do those have to count?… lol!) that\’s 8 tanks in my house. Then in my greenhouse, in hybrination right now, I have a 150 gallon horse trough tank with koi and goldfish. Then in my bathroom cabinet I have my brine shrimp hatchery, which makes it sound like the mad scientists lab in there. My light bill isn\’t too bad, I have it down to a science getting the most out of my wattage etc. and we are on a time of use schedule. So with the tanks my light bill hasn\’t gone up outrageously, but it\’s still probably an extra $40 a month.
Anyway, just hoping that someone out there is as obsessed as I am, so I don\’t have to feel so guilty in my hobby!

Oh my, sounds like my house!!! Only I haven’t got koi anymore, as soon as we buy a house bet you’re bottom the first thing I’m doing is another pond!!! It almost killed me to leave them when we moved. Fantastic fish, I miss my koi soo much.:(
I’ve got one room with nothing but fish tanks in it, all are SW. So there is 5 tanks, there are 3 more in the basement, one in the kitchen, one in the dinning room, one in the living room, and another in my bedroom. That’s 12. On top of those I’ve got 5 fry tanks set up, as these aren’t permanent I don’t think they count. The bedroom in the basement has been converted to a live food hatchery!! Yes, there is a bed and dresser and telly there, but nobody sleeps in it, I can’t just let that perfectly good space go to waste now, can I?
Theres a fine line between fish as a hobby and an addiction. I flew over it along time ago~!! So no Carrie you aren’t the only person who’s hobby has taken over not only you’re thought’s but you home as well.
