Yeah, I think I can shed a little light on the situation for you — the reason you are having trouble locating my new book issimply because it still hasn’t been published yet.
The manuscript has been completed for quite some time and I have found a publisher for the book who is willing to publish it complete and in its entirety rather than condensing it or shortening the manuscript. That’s very important to me because the Complete Guide to the Greater Seahorses in the Aquarium basically picks up where my old Step-By-Step Book about Seahorses left off. Fully illustrated, the unabridged version of the new book will be well over 500 pages in length, making it a great deal more comprehensive than the earlier book. As a quick example, the chapter on disease prevention and control is itself, alone, considerably longer than any of the other guidebooks about seahorses that have ever been published.
However, in order to proceed I must first convert the book manuscript into "electronically ready to print" form, with all of the photographs and illustrations inserted in place, complete with captions and legends. And that process is proving to be more challenging and time consuming than I had anticipated. Despite the difficulties, I expect it to be ready sometime within the coming year and I promise you it will be worth the wait! The Complete Guide to Greater Seahorses is crammed cover to cover with the latest information and cutting-edge techniques and technology for keeping, breeding and raising all of the species of captive-bred seahorses that are now available to the home hobbyist.
I will be sure to keep you guys informed as soon as it’s released and, in the meantime, you can always contact me personally or through the group for help with any of your seahorse related questions or concerns.
Best wishes with all your fishes, Yvonne! Your support and interest in the new book is greatly appreciated.
Happy Trails!
